Located in a cozy spot, Abang Zul Ikan Patin delivers a satisfying dining experience centered on its signature dish. The star of the show is, without a doubt, the fish itself. It was generously portioned, offering a substantial meal that felt well worth the price. The flavor of the gravy was another highlight. It was rich and well-balanced, hitting the right notes of savory and spicy without being overpowering. What was particularly appreciated was the absence of bunga kantan, which allows the natural taste of the ikan patin to truly shine. Considering the quality and portion size, the price was quite moderate, making it an excellent option for anyone craving authentic and delicious ikan patin.

Cooked by local always the best. Ikan patin tempoyak such a chef’s kiss nak repeatttt

Only one of the two Malays that serve the original Patin Tempoyak around this area. Have a try when you pass by.

This shop is one of the many food stalls within the food court. It is directly opposite the Kompleks Peniaga. Easy to find parking just next to the stalls or further down the road. The main item here is ikan patin masak tempoyak. Choose the fish section that you want (head/body/tail) and they will serve it in a bowl with lots of 'kuah'. The sauce is light and soupy texture unlike other versions that is more starchy. It has that distinctive fermented durian sour-salty-tart taste. His version is mild and subtle, not hot (less chilli). The patin fish was fresh and had no fishy or earthy taste. it was cooked very well that you can really enjoy the fish, its fat and flesh literally melts the moment you eat it. There are other dishes served here, e.g. fried fish/chicken, vegetables and kerabu mangga. I had rice, patin tail, Brinjal, kerabu mangga & air bandung, total RM22. The proprietors were polite, welcoming and efficient as what other reviewers said. Personally thanked me for patronizing his stall. I was very happy to eat there and his food. Do try his version of patin tempoyak. It is light and doesn't make you bloat or jelak. After food, take a walk to the esplanade along the river. About 5 minutes from this stall.

Been here many times because the patin tempoyak is the best!

Me and my wife will go here everytime in temerloh to eat ikan patin. Since this here is considered as a food court, not so much place to sit if you bring a lot of people. The kuah for ikan patin is just nice.
